Benefit-eligible employees have 30 days from their hire date to enroll. New Hires, benefits start Day 1. Dependents include Legally married spouse, domestic partner and domestic partner children, children to age 26.
Medical Insurance
- Sonova is committed to providing quality health coverage to you and your dependents. Sonova offers a selection of Medical plan options to ensure you can choose the type of plan that meets your needs.

UMR uses the United Healthcare provider network, and our Pharmacy program is through Maxor.
There is a surcharge for coverage for Spouse or Domestic Partner if they are eligible for coverage through their own employer.
Sonova does contribute to the HRA and HSA plans.
Dental Insurance
- Sonova provides you with three options for your Dental plan under Delta Dental. You can choose from Dental Maintenance Organization (DHMO), a Base DPPO and a Buy-UP DPPO option.
- DHMO is not offered in the following states: AK, ME, MT, NH, NM, ND, PR, SD, USVI, VT and WY.
Vision Insurance
- Our Vision care benefit is through VSP
Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA)
- Sonova offers Healthcare, Dependent Care and Commuter Flexible Savings Accounts through WEX.
Group Term Life and AD&D Insurance
- This coverage is provided automatically at 1x your base annual earnings, up to $750,000. Supplemental Life and AD&D is also available.
- Imputed Income – Federal regulations require payment of income and Social Security taxes on the value of life insurance premiums in excess of $50,000 when paid for by your employer. This value is known as imputed income.
Short and Long-Term Disability
- Sonova offers two company-paid disability plans by Lincoln Financial Group to provide financial assistance in case you become disabled or unable to work.
